Etymology:
The specific epithet minor is derived from Latin, meaning ‘smaller, less’, referring to the smaller branchlet diameter compared to H. pulvinaris.
 Description

Smaller in all parts, tomentum whiter, branchlets including lvs not > 15 mm. diam. Pappus-hairs hardly thickened above, more strongly barbellate, especially at tips.
