  • a robust aquatic perennial herbaceous plant with a tufted growth habit.
  • its leaf stalks are up to 40 cm long, and the leaves have 7 distinct longitudinal veins.
  • its flowers are large, solitary, and with white petals up to 4 cm long.
  • Its capsule is narrow (2-5 cm long, and has many seeds.
