 Recognition
  • a perennial rush up to 90 cm high, loosely or densely tufted, and bronze or red-purple at base.
  • its leaves are terete or compressed.
  • its inflorescence is variable, up to 24 cm long, branched, open, and with 3-8 flowers.
  • its capsules are 2.5-3.5 mm long, reddish-brown.
