Stock and branch-bases woody; branches densely compacted, forming greenish cushions or mats up to 1 m. diam. and 20 cm. tall. Lvs densely imbricate, 3–4 × 0·5–1 mm., linear-oblong, widened and truncate at apex, 1-nerved, dorsal surface with brush of long hairs near base, glab. above; ventral surface glab. below, with brush of straight hairs at tip, exceeding and concealing lamina. Capitula 3–5 mm. diam. Inner phyll. linear, c. 2.5 mm. long, scarious on margins, obtuse to acute, tips erect, often white. Achenes < 1 mm. long, clad in stiff hairs; pappus-hairs c. 2.5 mm. long, stiff.
