Small shrub, usually procumbent, sometimes climbing in other plants, with few to many trailing, non-radiating stems, to 30 cm long; young stems light brown, moderately hairy; internodes 2–5 mm long. Older stems moderately stout (to 4 mm), dark brown. Node buttresses lunate to elongate, usually not prominent on leafless stems. Leaves ascending, loosely imbricate to distant, becoming patent.
