 Description

Erect shrub up to ± 2 m. tall; branches us. lightly pubescent. Lvs close-set, coriac., green above and below or subglaucous below, becoming patent or reflexed, subsessile or on petiole c. 1 mm. long narrowly lanceolate to oblanceolate or oblong-elliptic on same plant, 10–20–(25) × ± 3 mm.; margins recurved, apex us. mucronulate; nerves fine, 3–5–(8). Infl. a short densely fld spike; bracts hardly 1/2 length of calyx. Fls c.3 mm. long; calyx-lobes oblong, obtuse; corolla-tube < calyx, lobes linear-oblong, densely hairy on upper surface. Fr. black when dry, broad-ovoid to suborbicular, 3–4 mm. long; locules 3–5.
