 Recognition
  • a large shrub or small tree usually growing up to 5 m tall and covered in dense white hairs.
  • its large (up to 25 cm long) leaves are dark green above and prickly on the midrib and veins.
  • its flowers are in dense branched clusters, 2.5-3.5 cm across, and the petals white with purplish veins.
  • its fruit are yellow globular berries (2-6 cm across).
