  • a rounded, bushy, evergreen shrub up to 3 m high.
  • its alternate leaves up to 10 cm long, leathery, rounded, dark green and glossy.
  • its inflorescence is a terminal, erect panicle with up to 7 cm long and with about 20 flowers.
  • its flowers are white and 2-3 cm across.
  • its fruit are round, 0.6-1.2 mm across and purplish black.
