 Recognition
  • a very robust perennial grass with stout rhizomes and forming large patches.
  • its leaves are stiff, glaucous, up to 65 cm long, and with a hard pointed tip.
  • its inflorescence is up to 1.6 m long, with a stiff erect spike.
  • these spikes have spikelets 15-25 mm long, each with 4-6 flowers.
  • its seeds is about 6.5 mm long.
